Blessing of the Commons

Health and Environment Summit
We hosted our second annual Health and Environment summit in 2024, and it was a great success. We invited environmental lawyers, as well as local presenters, and a few from around the country to come and educate the community on a few different issues. We of course got some legal info on how we can take action, through the legal system, when we see violations. We also had Lori Cooke, Roishetta Ozane, Breon Robinson, Vickie Boothe, Matt Rota, James Hiatt, Debra Ramirez, Lois Malvo, and Gordon Pierce all gave very compelling and informative presentations on many different topics all revolving around protecting our air land and water rights.
Earth Day Extravaganza
On or around Earth Day every year we hold our annual Earth Day Extravaganza, where we invite local performers, speakers, and vendors to join us in a day of celebrating the earth. We have live music, good food, some good performances which include the Sulphur Tor Color Guard, local speakers, a puppet show, butterfly release, and we even have a magician.
Trash pick-up
We truly believe in protecting our environment, and we prove it by getting people out in the streets of our neighborhoods and cleaning all the trash we can find. We’re dedicated with our continued efforts to keep southwest Louisiana as clean as possible, despite the continued pollution from the refineries.
